Armory Art Center Youth Art Camps and Classes offers Spring Break Art Camp and summer art camps. The program takes place at the Armory Art Center, which provides art classes for artists of all ages and abilities and offers nearly 100 courses held in 12 state-of-the-art studios annually. The Armory is housed in a 1939 Art Deco building that also serves as a premier space for exhibitions, art salons, lectures, and special events.

• Schedule: Open Monday 9am–5pm; Tuesday–Thursday 9am–7pm; Friday 9am–5pm; Saturday 9am–4pm (classes proceed as scheduled)

The mission of the Armory Art Center is to inspire the creation and experience of art. The Norton Museum closed its art school in 1986, and a group of artists, art teachers, and community activists then formed the Armory Art Center, which was incorporated as a not-for-profit organization on November 21, 1986, and opened to the public in July 1987. The building was constructed in 1939 by the Works Progress Administration, served as a National Guard Armory from 1939 to 1982, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992. The Armory provides summer art camps for thousands of youth and is home to artists-in-residence from the United States and abroad. In spring 2023, the Armory launched a restoration project of the Old Armory Building as an initial phase to update all of the center’s facilities in the next five years.

The BraveHeARTS program at the Armory promotes the rehabilitation of military service veterans through visual arts and creative expression. The Armory has a collaboration with Palm Beach Harvest and artist Ashleigh Walters for a family-style dinner event called SUPPER 2026. Art activists and the Palm Beach County Cultural Council convinced the City of West Palm Beach to stop the demolition of the Armory building, and the Armory looks to a long future of enhancing artistic life in the Palm Beaches.
